Emily Chester Kahler - 8

The Noble Gases - Why they're not as boring as people think

Emily Chester Kahler is an 8-year-old from Queensland with a passion for physics and electromagnetism. She is studying advanced mathematics through the Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth, where she enjoys designing algorithms to solve math puzzles and spotting hidden patterns in square roots. Outside of academics, Emily loves obstacle course racing, learning Korean with her baby brother, and playing the trombone. She is excited to share her fascination with science at the 2025 Australian Mensa Conference.

When she grows up, Emily plans to become an oral surgeon and take over her parents’ dental practice — so audiences should be nice to her now, because she might be holding the drill later.
